Malur (Formerly Dodda Maraluru), a small village situated near Channapatna (The famous Toy-Town), in Ramanagaram District of Karnataka, holds a significant place in the life of Sri Purandara Dasa and the composition of “Jagadoddharana…” This serene village is famous for the idol of Bala Krishna in the pose of walking on all fours and carrying butter.
